5.3.3.12 Temporary linguistic adaptation classrooms (ATAL)
Teachers of Intercultural Education Program attend to most of the educational centers which have immigrant students enrolled. These professionals have as a reference center the Educational Guidance Team of their area.
These are the goals ATAL intend to meet:
· Attend students from other countries that, because they do not speak our language and do not know our culture, have difficulties of integration in school centers.
· Promote immigrant students’ integration in school developing Intercultural Education activities at centers.
· Specify an Initial Welcoming Program for students of other cultures, as well as plan activities inside the ordinary classrooms, suitable to facilitate coexistence, tolerance, mutual respect and, in general, the Intercultural Education goals inserted in the standard curriculum. Such a Program will have an impact on different parts of the center’s Project.
- Collaborate with other institutions, especially at a local level, to facilitate the integration, always taking account respect for what is different.
